Waking Up Can Be Enough

Each day brings a fresh start. Most of the time, we bring the problems of yesterday with each morning we wake up. The gift of waking up each day is the grace of going through them with a fresh mind, body, and sometimes even perspective.

Not that everything will be changed for the better nor solutions are magically provided for each problem every time we wake up. Sometimes waking up to the same set of problems and circumstances can make us anxious as we face each dawn.

But the free grace of waking up each morning signifies that we don’t need giving up yet. Yes, the world may go around with the same rhythm, and the problems remain. But the Bible tells us we won’t be facing it all alone.

By grace we have been sustained in our sleep, shall we not be sustained for the problems we’ll be facing today?

Regardless of whether solutions have come up for every problems we face from yesterday, the truth is enough: we are given another day, another life.

We do not need to wake up each day feeling extraordinary or that we need to have a mindset right away that we can carry the whole world and save all of its problems. The infallible wisdom of the Scriptures leads us. Yes, we should never stop relying on God’s word and wisdom everyday. But sometimes the Bible does not give us concrete steps and solutions to circumstances or each problem we face. Yet it does not mean we should stop looking to it for our deepest heart aches and hunger. Only Jesus can satisfy, comfort, and heal us.

Whether we wake up carrying the burdens of the previous days, weeks, or months, the truth remains: for every morning we face, His grace and mercies are new. Every anxiety and every problem, He gives strength to each one of them. And that is enough.

May your mornings be filled with joy, hope, faith, and blessings. It is but a short read, but I hoped it could be enough as a reminder that the Lord will never forsake His people. Each morning that He gives comes with the promise of His strength and grace: that He is with them and will be with them through it all, no matter what the day brings, or their yesterdays hold.
